This is not for the faint hearted!

We show you simplicity.

With us you will experience
unspoilt nature.

But also, we will leave you with a
message of hope
and share with you
the serenity of the beautiful landscape
of Angola, ready to be
enjoyed by persons who want
to experience the
cold, hard reality of a country
ravaged by war but with the
will to survive.

Itinerary:

The route in red Day 1:
Arrive at Luanda International Airport, met by Big 5 Experience staff. Book in at the Forum Hotel (***). Dinner at one of the beautiful restaurants on the Ilha de Luanda.

Day 2:
After a healthy breakfast, we depart from Luanda in an easterly direction for Dondo on the banks of the Rio Kwanza, where we will experience the real African market to buy some pao (local bread) and book in at our overnight stop at Cambambe. (5 hours).

Day 3:
After breakfast, we depart for Quibala where we will experience the ravages of war and after having brunch, we depart for Gabela in a westerly direction where some of the best coffee in Angola is produced. Overnight at the Gabela Hotel and dinner at a traditional Portuguese restaurant, walking distance from the Hotel. (7 ½ hrs).

Day 4:
After an early breakfast, we visit the popular hot water springs to the west of Gabela and proceed down the breathtaking escarpment to the coast. On our way down the escarpment, we will stop at the marvelous Cachoeiras Falls in the Rio Kwefi and enjoy lunch there. We arrive at the serene Sumbe, one of the beautiful coastal towns of Angola, where we enjoy a sundowner, have a traditional dinner in a restaurant on the beach and will overnight in a beautiful beachfront hotel. (6 hours)

Day 5:
After a late breakfast, we proceed in a northerly direction to Porto Amboim, where we will enjoy a light lunch and carry on toward Cabo Ledo (leading Cape), where we will visit the oldest lighthouse on the Angolan Atlantic Coast and a fishing village to experience firsthand how the locals catch, salt and dry fish. Tonight will be the highlight of the safari, with a crayfish barbeque on the beach after a sundowner and the handing over ceremony of certificates to our guests. Wine and dine until late and overnight at the bungalows of our famous host, Amilcar Quierros, at Cabo Ledo.

Day 6:
After a healthy breakfast after a late night, we carry on towards Luanda past the Quicama National Park and over the Rio Cuanza (the longest bridge in Angola) to be in time to say our last farewells at the Luanda International Airport.
